Spacious and comfortable atmosphere. Huge bar where we could enjoy drinks and dinner. Bartender Alisa was very friendly and a wonderful server. GM Nate was very nice and personable as well. My husband had a DELICIOUS blueberry-themed pork loin with blueberry sauce, scallion potato cake, blueberry slaw, and I indulged in the 8 ounce Secreto tender pork cut with Cedar braised beans and fennel leek puree. Pork was salty and overwhelmed the meal, so I would mention less salt in the preparation if you order. Nice cocktail and wine selections!

We had a show to catch in Downtown St Paul and were looking to find a nice restaurant to hang out in beforehand. Handsome Hog was a nice cozy spot for a good filling meal. The Secreto was phenomenal. It was suggested by our wonderful server and it was so tender and flavorful. All the other things that it came with-- the Brussel sprouts, the fennel leek puree were all great compliments to the dish. We also ordered the brisket which paled in comparison to the Secreto. It was still pretty good, but I found it a little on the dry side. The service here was amazing and the price, even more so! I can't believe the value you get for the quality of the food.

My first visit to the Handsome Hog was outstanding! The bar area is very spacious and the entire restaurant has a great vibe. The drink menu is extensive, and the mocktails are a great option (my wife enjoyed the Dirty Bird). We ordered the dry rub wings and the fries and both were fantastic. The fries were especially delicious and came with a seasoned sour cream type of dip that was great. We also ordered the smoked creme brulee for dessert and it was a great way to end our meal. We will be back again for dinner sometime soon!

Decided to come here for a datenight-- very impressed with the service (Aaron L was our server! So personable and friendly!). Drinks came out fast and we didn't wait long for food either! Our server actually staggered when he submitted our entree so we had time to eat our appetizer. We had the brisket and the Secreto; the brisket was tender and the Secreto had a crunchy, spicy crust that fit really well with the sauce. Really sad to hear that such a lovely place is shutting down soon since the parent-company doesn't want it anymore and even sadder that the building will sit empty after that.

First time here and had an excellent mixology and culinary experience. Don't let the name of the establishment lead you to thinking they only serve pork dishes. There's a lot more to the establishment. We got here at opening time and sat at the bar until our table was ready. This was a great experience as we were able to speak with the bartender/mixologist and ask questions about the signature cocktails. He was very cordial and professional. Had a Manhattan straight up and was amazed at the quality of the pour and taste. Ranks as one of the best in the Twin Cities. Nothing artificial in the quality of mixers used. It was a great experience! Table ready, more drinks and food ordered. We ordered a smattering of dishes to get a variety of tastes. One dish that really stood out is the Sausage Gravy Poutine. Most restaurants use simple, deep fried sliced potatoes and hopefully they're not frozen straight from the freezer. This poutine had fresh potatoes, sliced in a spiral fashion. I believe the potatoes were blanched before frying as the texture was fluffy on the inside and great texture on the outside. Great layering of gravy with the cheese, peppers, and chives. Ambiance, food quality, and cordial service. A true standout amongst the number of restaurants in town. Bravo!
